Symphony Orchestra Concert – Once upon a Spring – The very best of Tchaikovsky

CONCERT INFORMATION
A new year, a fresh start. Amberstone Media, in collaboration with Conservatory of HCMC, proudly present “Once Upon A Spring – The Very Best Of Tchaikovsky” – the inaugural concert featuring Saigon Philharmonic Orchestra and Saigon Philharmonic Youth Orchestra.

This is a classical music night dedicated to young professional musicians who are committed and passionate to bring classical music closer to the community.

Starting with Violin Concerto in D major, Op. 35 – one of the best known violin concertos ever written by the famed Russian composer – Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, the night is followed by the The Nutcracker Suite, Op 71a – one of Tchaikovsky’s best known works for Ballet. The concert promises to bring on a wide range of emotions from the happy to energetic and sentimental. Tchaikovsky’s beautiful melodies and creatively colorful orchestration will captivate audiences and paint vivid worlds through their imagination.

ARTIST INFORMATION

CHIEF CONDUCTOR – FAN TING
One of the legendary violinists of Hong Kong, Fan graduated from Curtis Institute of Music & Julliard School – the world’s leading music academies for classical genre. As a conductor, Fan founded and acted as the first Music Director of the Metropolitan Youth Orchestra, a renowned youth orchestra in Asia. Recently, he has also been appointed Board Director and Chief Conductor of the Saigon Philharmonic Orchestra of Vietnam. Moreover, he is the founding faculty of the Orchestral Technique Class at the Hong Kong Academy of Performing Arts.

VIOLINIST – RODRIGO PUSKÁS
Hungarian-born concert violinist Rodrigo Puskás has been considered one of the most exciting young violinists of his generation. Winner of several national and international competitions, he has performed in over 20 countries as a soloist, recitalist and chamber musician.

He has appeared in concerts and recitals in major festivals and concert halls around the world, including the Young Artist International in Los Angeles, the Saint Huber Festival of Belgium, the Holland Music Sessions in the Netherlands, the European String Festival of Ireland, International Academy of Russia, the Nagano and Yokosuka festivals in Japan, and the Leopold Auer Festival of Hungary.

Puskás was first prize winner of the Budapest Young Artist Competition, the Budapest National Violin Contest, the János Koncz International Violin Competition, the Béla Bartók Chamber Music Competition, the MCPAS Artists’ Competition (also Audience Prize winner), and the Entergy Music Competition.
