CEEC Monthly Infographic No.14 – Passenger & Freight Transportation in 10 Months of 2021

Due to the spread of Covid-19 from the beginning of 2021, passenger and freight transportation has been heavily affected. Both domestic and overseas movements were restricted, as a result, the number significantly reduced.

Passenger carried in the last 10 months is reported to be 2,140.5 million people, which is 27.1% lower than the same period last year. The number of domestic passengers decreases 27% and overseas passengers decreases 96.3%.

Passenger traffic amounted to be 86.3 billion person-kilometers, which is 34.9% lower than last year. Domestic passenger traffic went down 30.1% and overseas passenger traffic went down 95.0%.

Freight carried of the 10 month period is around 1,335.3 million tons. Domestic freight carried fell 6.5% and overseas freight carried fell 17.7%.

Freight traffic, however, slightly increased 1.4% and the total number is 269.8 billion ton-kilometers. While domestic freight traffic went up 10.9%, overseas freight traffic declined 15.3%.
